WHAT!? They’re making a movie of it!

Will we get to watch it in haptic suits? No? Damn. Oh, well. I'll still go see it.

I’m re-listening to the Ready Player One audiobook, for about the 4th time, right now. I really hope they do well on this movie.

You didn’t know? Spielberg is directing. The cast looks great, too.

Me too. Spielberg has had a few turds, but I don’t think this will be one of them.

Gavin Hood already flopped on another of my favorite sci-fi books with Ender’s Game. I’d really hate for Spielberg to do the same with this.

I’d actually much rather it had been made a Netflix series or something, since it’s such a good story with a lot of potential and content to fill ten one hour episodes or something.

Spielberg directing a movie that heavily references movies from the 1980s. It's almost a feedback loop.

They’d better get Wil Wheaton somewhere in the film. He does a fantastic job narrating the audiobook.

He actually worked with the writers to get rid of most of the more obvious references to his own films.

I believe it and agree. I didn’t listen to the RPO audiobook, but I did enjoy his reading of Armada.

I kinda liked the Ender’s Game movie. It was very different than the book, though.

He’s a great narrator. I’ve downloaded books specifically because he narrates them. haha Armada was good too. He also does a few John Scalzi books that are pretty solid.

What sucks is that Spielberg took out every reference that he has had a part in... Which sucks.

I think I actually enjoyed Armada more. RPO has a better story, but Cline’s style really improved for Armada.

I’ll agree on the style, but the RPO story is just too good.

You might also check out the Magic 2.0 series by Scott Myer, which starts with Off To Be The Wizard. It’s a bit more comical, but still a really fun series.

Yeah, the RPO story is excellent. I just thought he got a bit pedantic at times. It’s like, yeah, we get it. You heart the ‘80s. He smoothed that out a bit for Armada.
